Physicals

            The purpose of a physical is to find any existing health or developmental problems and check your overall well-being.  A physical will include a complete health and physical exam and may also include laboratory work to check for things such as your blood count and cholesterol, radiology, an EKG, fitness evaluation, and cancer screenings. Some types of physicals are:

            Sports Physical- A sports physical can help you find out and deal with health problems that might interfere with your participation in a sport.  A sports physical involves your medical history and a physical examination.           

School Physical-A school physical involves a physical examination, developmental assessment, immunization schedule, and may include preventative screenings. 

Work Physical/Pre-Employment- For professionals whose contracts are contingent upon passing a medical exam.  This physical included a physical examination, labs, EKG, urinalysis, TB test, drug testing, vision and hearing test.

         DOT physicals- The U.S. Department of Transportation regulate a wide variety of truck and bus drivers.  DOT physicals involve certification or re-certification examinations which meet federal regulatory requirements.  Premier Family Care ensures that DOT physicals meet DOT regulations-with walk in convenience.

Medical Weight Loss

Minor Surgeries

            Surgeries that can be performed in our office under local anesthesia, without any need for sedation or general anesthesia are referred to as a “minor surgery.”  A variety of skin lesions, including laceration repair, skin biopsies, mole and skin tag removal, wart removal, foreign body removal and some others which are listed below are among those that can be treated in our office.  We offer consultations on these or any other skin condition. Moles- Almost everyone has a few moles or has heard of them.  Although the majority of these moles are benign, on rare occasions they can become a health concern.  We recommend that if you are concerned about a particular mole, or if you have a number of them, you should undergo a skin exam by a physician to determine whether they need to be biopsied.  If a mole is a cosmetic concern, it could also be easily removed here at our office.

Warts- Regardless of their location (hands, feet, genitals, etc.), they are a skin condition that can be treated in the office by freezing or cutting under local anesthesia.

            Foreign Body Removal- Dr. Gurvits is a trained professional who can remove foreign bodies (metal, wood, fiber, plant material, etc.), from the front surface of the eye.  Iron foreign bodies left in the eye too long will rust, which cause the eye not to heal properly.  This can be removed with special instruments under high magnification. The procedure is done with the use of anesthetic drops so there is no pain.  After the removal, the eye will be treated with drops to stop possible infection.

Scars- Whether your scar is from a previous surgery or an old trauma, they can be improved using a minor surgical method, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, or our PSR.

Lumps, bumps, and cysts need to be diagnosed by a physician to assure that they are not any significant health risk, otherwise could be removed by a minor surgery.
